was the first day of school. Jillian had been dreading this day since the start of summer break. If you asked her why, she wouldn’t ever give you an answer unless she knew you well. If she knew you well, then you would likely know by then. One of the reasons was merely because Jillian did not have many friends at school, therefore barely anyone to vent or talk to.
This brings us to the question... Why doesn’t she have friends? Like many teens, she was a freak of society, or as most people her age would put it— a ‘weird kid’. At the time, she was still figuring out her life and who she was. Many kids were too, but Jillian couldn’t see through them. A little while ago, she had awakened as a Therianthrope. A person who spiritually identifies as a non-human animal, it can also refer to past lives.
On the first day of school, Jillian always brought something that meant a lot to her to show to the class. So, she rolled out of bed, bringing her fluffy arctic wolf clip-on tail. She stuffed it in her backpack, along with the sea of supplies her mom had gotten her. She organized it the best she could before getting called downstairs to eat before school.
She looked in the freezer, pantry, fridge, bread rack... Nothing. Jillian called out, “Mooooooom, we have no more breakfast food.” Her mom looked up. “Yes, we do, Jillian. Go make yourself toast with cream cheese.” Jillian didn’t like toast with cream cheese, but she would’ve accepted anything to fill her belly up. She threw a piece of toast in the toaster and waited for it to pop out of the toaster. In the meantime, she sat down and stared at the TV.
